Why did you join the RMC GeoCORE team?
As a construction engineer in the CAF I heard a lot about “going North”. I then took Dr. Beddoe’s Cold Region course and became very interested in cold regions engineering and joined the team!
What do you like about the RMC?
As a RMC Alumni RMC feels like home to me. I have settled my family in Kingston and I love being back on campus as a master student and lecturer within the Civ. Eng. Department. I really like that military and academics collide here.
What is your research topic?
I am studying permafrost with Dr. Beddoe, looking at the thermal profiles of soil at failure using fiber optics and thermal imagery.
Any interesting results to share?

What do you like to do for fun outside of school?
I love being outdoors with my family, whether it be camping, fishing, canoeing and just being on the lake. In my limited free time I love playing volleyball and do so whenever possible. I play for CFB Kingston as well as the CISM team. I also love pottery as creative outlet.
